Penthouses in Cyprus: traditions and trends
There are not many high-rise penthouses in the classic sense of this word in Cyprus. This is because there are not many skyscrapers in the main cities of the island (Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos) and an average urban development reaches 3-6 floors. Therefore, apartments located on the last floors of 5-6-storey buildings are often considered penthouses. At the same time, such apartments have excellent views and all the qualities of classical penthouses: first-line location by the sea, roof gardens and pools, interior solutions from world-famous designers, high-level technical equipment, and, most importantly, they give their owners privacy.
In recent years, however, the situation has changed considerably. Cyprus developers are increasingly turning towards the construction of luxury high-rises with amenities and services of a five-star hotel. And the real estate market now offers a lot more options for classic “houses in the skies.” The location on the first coastline of Limassol and in the business districts of Nicosia makes this type of real estate very attractive for both investment and personal residence.
